Family Dysfunction a Universal Crisis

Family dysfunction will never become extinct. There is not one family who is not dysfunctional. It stems from drugs, alcoholism, physical and emotional abuse, poverty, miscommunication, disrespect, wealth and materialism.
It is a way of life. For example in Sherman Alexie’s book The Absolutely true Diary of a Part-Time Indian, Both Penelope and Junior’s families live in different socio-economic dynamics. Yet there is limited communication and assumptions in both families. Penelope’s father is a racist, and she suffers from bulimia. Junior lives with alcoholic parents, in poverty.
These are two different worlds, two different people, two different cultures and both families are dysfunctional.
